Stopping Viruses and Spam
Who out there hasn't received spam or a virus?. If you haven't, you probably don't have a computer . Spam or unwanted email is a huge pain in the keyboard for everyone. If you have a high speed internet connection, it just means you can get your spam faster. How about those annoying viruses?. They can be a true productivity killer. Well where is all this leading to. Spitz Consulting has come up with a way to kill viruses and stop most spam.
OK we didn't invent it, but we have a method that we think can help. We use a server based product that takes your incoming mail and sends it to another mail server that uses McAfee Anti-Virus and a whole bunch (that's a technical term) of logic to stop spam. Then the mail gets forwarded back to our mail server and sent on to you. This is accomplished by using such techniques as scanning known blacklists for spammers, checking for a valid mail server and showing a valid reply to address. There is nothing that you need to do on your end to make this work. The benefit: We stop spam and viruses before they get to you! There are no guarantees we will get every single spam and every single virus, but we can increase your odds dramatically. How does that sound?
In a recent log, the system was found to stop the annoying So Big virus, the vicious Klez, and the popular BugBear virus. On the spam side, one sample showed a reduction of spam by 68%, eliminating spam with bad headers, spam headers and no postmaster.
The cost of this a mere $5 per mail box per month or $50 per year. To make this work, you must have your email on a Spitz Consulting server so we can forward it to our spam and virus catcher server. If you're still on AOL or just want your own domain name, such as you@yourcompany.com we can get you set up. Let us know if you are interested in stopping spam and viruses.
Acemailer shows its stuff
If you want to do any sort of mass emailing or even avoid ACT!s slow email with Outlook, then you should check out Acemailer 3.0. This email newsletter was sent using ACEmailer. ACECRM, the company that makes ACE mailer has given a solid overhaul to ACE mailer, which was formerly PowerMerge. It is filled with features and functions that are easy to use and makes communicating with customers a snap. I am attaching the review I did for ACT! Extra. In addition to the review there are some new features which were added after the review. They have added the ability to review the Merge History after you send emails. While ACT! might be OK for occasional e-mails, AceMailer really goes to the next level and gives you a full featured HTML email merge program.

What is spyware and how do I get rid of it? When we visit clients to resolve problems on their PC’s, one of the first things we look at is what is running in the background. Some problems are often caused by programs that are running unbeknownst to the user. These programs may start up with windows, and while many of them are necessary, there are several that are not useful – and some that are downright dangerous. These programs (or at least the ones that should not be there) can fall into two categories – spyware and adware.
Do you have spyware on your PC? A good clue is to look at Internet Explorer when you start it up. Has your home page changed to something that you don’t want? When you change it back to your default (Google, MSN, Yahoo), does it revert back to another page? Do you have menubars and toolbars on the top of the window that you did not install or that you can not seem to get rid of? Is Internet Explorer crashing or do you have lots of pop-ups when you are changing pages or just viewing a page? These are all signs that you might have spyware and adware on your PC.
